Dr. Sophia Upton has been with MCAH since July of 2022. Dr. Upton grew up in MA and attended both undergraduate and graduate school here. She graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in pre-veterinary studies and went on to get her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts Cummings school of Veterinary Medicine.  

Dr. Upton has been working in the veterinary field since 2015 when she started work at a barn offering horse therapy. This is where her interest turned into a passion as she saw how impactful the human-animal bond could be. Dr. Upton loves all aspects of veterinary medicine but takes a keen interest in animal behavior and wants to make sure your pet is comfortable during their visit. Dr. Upton and her nursing team are all Fear Free Certified and will go above and beyond to ensure you and your pets needs are being met on both a medical and comfortable level here at our practice.

Dr. Upton still resides in MA with her Fiancé and their two pets, a husky mix named Pooka and a partially blind persian cat named Remy. In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening, and Hiking. We are so excited to have Dr. Upton as part of our practice as she brings extensive knowledge on animal behavior and has made our practice more stress free with her ability to educate staff and clients about patient comfort.
