Bill D., Anesthesia and Surgery Manager
Bill has been a trusted and well respected part of the team at Middlesex County Animal Hospital for over a decade. Bill’s knowledge and skill in veterinary care are extraordinary and he has a great affection for clients and their pets. He has over 25 years technician experience and has dedicated his working career to the veterinary profession. Bill is an incredible asset to this organization! Currently the manager of our anesthesia and surgery department, he solidifies our vigilant surgery team. Bill grew up in Billerica and surrounding areas and now calls Newton home with his lovely fiancée, Georgina, and their beloved dogs, Hercules and Kiko. Bill loves to work but even more loves to take a walk in the woods or just be lazy in the backyard with his dogs. He frequently visits friends and family in the area and often finds the conversation gravitates to his profession and everyone’s pets. He has always had a way with animals and his love for all creatures is obvious to all that know him.
Mary has been with Middlesex County Animal Hospital since 2016 and often calls herself a “forever employee”. She thoroughly enjoys getting to know all of our clients and their pets. Mary’s optimistic and fun personality is contagious to staff and clients alike! She graduated from UMass Dartmouth in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. Over her many years as a Technician, Mary has found a passion for surgery and overseeing the ICU. Aside from work, Mary takes pride in being a mom to her young son, Walter, spending time with friends and getting in a good workout. She also shares her home with Gino the Brussels Griffon and their two cats, Homer and Hector.
Justin joined our team as a technician in early 2017. He graduated from the
University of New Haven with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Sound Recording. Justin loves everything about the veterinary atmosphere and his kind demeanor is always present. He has volunteered frequently with MSPCA Boston in the Shelter Surgery Clinic and has attended many cat spay clinics. Justin is a huge cat guy who shares his home with his kitty, Selina Kyle. In his free time, Justin enjoys playing music and attending musical events. He’s also a huge Boston sports fan!
Kelly is a Vermont native and grew up on a dairy farm, which is where her passion for animals started. She then went on and attended Vermont Technical College to get a degree doing what she loves and acquired her Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. Kelly joined us as a technician in 2017 and her compassion and dedication to understand each and every animal’s needs makes her a valuable asset to our team. At home, she loves spending time with her two dogs, Beck and Briley and her cat, Marshmallow. Kelly also enjoys catching up on her favorite shows on Netflix, cooking, and reading.
Jessa joined Middlesex County Animal Hospital in 2017 and has been a great addition to our team. Always with a smile on her face, Jessa’s enthusiasm for each and every day is inspiring. She has always had a strong interest in the veterinary field and has worked with pets for over 5 years. Her desire to help and care for animals is her true passion in life. Outside of caring for animals, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, family and friends, being outdoors, and listening to country music. But most importantly, she always makes time for a daily run with her boxer Taffy.
Lauren started as a technician at Middlesex County Animal Hospital in 2018. Her lifelong passion for animals was apparent when she adopted her first pet at the age of 5, a Parakeet named Treasure. Her love of animals led her to manage a holistic pet store where for 7 years she helped people find the best items for their pets. She decided to leave retail to focus on a new career in veterinary sciences. Lauren is owned by a rescue Pug named Kelso, a Boston terrier, Tesla, and a Pitbull Percy. She also shares her home with two kitties, Twix and Helix. She is a huge Disney fan and loves anything Starwars, Marvel or Harry Potter. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys singing, going to the beach but mostly loves spending time with her fiancé Dan and their young son Shane.
Alysia joined Middlesex County Animal Hospital in 2018 . Having always loved animals, she realized that she wanted to join a career path helping them and followed her dreams of becoming a Veterinary Technician. Alysia is a graduate from Greater Lawrence Tech as an honor roll student certifying in culinary arts and hospitality. Her hobbies include sports, including softball and basketball, dancing, and singing. She also loves making plans with friends, whether it be at the movie theater, the beach or anything outdoors. At home she has an adorable Dachshund-mix named Leo and a rabbit named Ginger.
Catherine joined our team as a technician in 2019 with over two years spent in the veterinary field. The knowledge and experience she has gained over the years has made her an asset to the technician team! Catherine has always loved animals, and is especially fond of the feline patients she gets to meet every day. She has four cats of her own, Jade, Poppy, Chowder and Marceline, whom she shares with her high school sweetheart, Michael. When Catherine isn’t working, she enjoys spending time outside, and loves getting new tattoos!
Ivana came to Middlesex County Animal Hospital in 2019 with over 5 years of experience in the veterinary field. Ever since Ivana was a little girl she’s had a strong love for all animals. She cannot remember a time when she did not have an animal in her home to care for. Ivana attended Greater Lowell Tech and graduated in the health care field. Ivana went on to work in the human health care field, but was pulled back towards her passion of the veterinary world after 6 years. She then attended Animal Behavioral College where she graduated and received her Veterinary Assistant certificate. Outside of work Ivana spends time with her fiancé and their two beautiful girls. They share their home with Diamond, the American Staffordshire Terrier, and Maximus, their handsome cat. Ivana savors time with her family, being outdoors, and activities such as camping and hiking.
Michaela joined Middlesex County Animal Hospital as a technician in August 2020 and has come into the Veterinary field excited, knowledgeable, and ready to work! Her positive attitude and friendliness has made it a joy to have her as part of our team. Originally attending school as a history major, she decided to make a change and jump into veterinary medicine to follow her passion of helping animals. She is currently enrolled at Penn Foster becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. When she’s not working, Michaela enjoys spending time with her high school sweetheart Chris, traveling, and giving all the love to her Maine Coon kitty, Louie!
Kristina came to our hospital in 2020 with over 7 years of experience in the veterinary field. Since joining us, she has been a vital part of our ICU team. She is pleasant, polite and always has a smile on her face! Kristina doesn’t remember a time when she was ever pet-free. Kristina took a part in helping her Grandmother, who has had 30+ pets in her lifetime, with taking in strays or those in need of a little TLC. She shares her heart with her three cats. Paisley (a vocal, opinionated, food motivated and lazy momma’s girl), Haze (a very naughty and nosy boy who is always curious) and Biscuit (who earned his name from his adorable and excessive kneading). Kristina also enjoys cheering on the Bruins, traveling and exploring, and soaking up the sun on the beach.
Matt joined Middlesex County Animal Hospital in 2020 and quickly became an asset to our technician team! He got his inspiration from being an EMT/Firefighter. He enjoyed emergency medicine and critical care, but has always loved animals and wanted to bring his experience and knowledge from human medicine to the veterinary field. Matt is certified in both animal and human CPR and First Aid! His hobbies include hiking, camping in the White Mountains and traveling with his Fiancé. Together they share their home with Onyx the German Shepherd and Sapphire the Husky.
Daniel joined the team as a part-timer but quickly converted to a full-time technician. In high school he chose to join the veterinary assisting trade and never looked back. He went on to graduate from Worcester Technician High School with a certificate in Veterinary Assisting. Daniel is the youngest of his siblings and has one brother and three sisters. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and fishing, listening to music and taking care of his two dogs, Jack and Sky.
Tate is our veterinary technician intern who has been with us since August 2020. She is currently a class of 2022 student at ConVal High School, and also works at an Equine veterinarian in New Hampshire! Tate’s goal for the future is to become a veterinarian; loving on and helping animals is her favorite perk about this field. She has 3 dogs named Tally, Dunkin and Hercules, and 3 cats named Tommy, Tyson and Demon. In her free time Tate enjoys riding horses, hiking and spending time with her animals!
Lindsey joined our team as a part-time technician assistant in February 2021. She came to us with 4 years of experience working with dogs at a local doggy daycare. We knew Lindsey would be a great addition to our team due to her easygoing and team–oriented personality. Though she doesn’t have any pets of her own, she treats each and every pet she encounters like they’re a member of her family. When she’s not working, Lindsey enjoys spending her free time walking dogs, hiking with friends, and having the occasional karaoke night!
Jen joined our team as a technician assistant in August 2021. She attended UMass Boston and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology! She has always had multiple pets in her home which lead her starting a career in working in the veterinary field. Although, Jen has no previous experience in the field, she is a quick learner and has been a great help to our team. She currently has a rescue dog, Luna, and 3 cats, Bo, Muffin and Momo. When Jen is not working, she enjoys reading, watching and playing softball and baseball, and going out to Texas Roadhouse with friends and family!
Ainsley joined our team as a technician assistant in August 2021. She had worked in the veterinary field for two years prior. She was inspired by her dog, Harper, who has anxiety and can be a handful, to want to help other anxious animals with their experience at the vet. When she’s not at work, Ainsley enjoys walking with Harper and her other dog Yuki, hiking and playing hockey.
Brenna joined our team as a technician assistant in September 2021. Ever since Brenna was a little girl, she has always had a strong passion for animals and knew she wanted to care for them for a living. Choosing the veterinary field was the perfect path for her! When she’s not at work, Brenna enjoys gardening, playing video games and spending time with her friends and family. Brenna also loves being a mom to her Pomeranian, Nala, who believes she is a human child!
Kristen joined our team at Middlesex County Animal Hospital as a technician assistant in September 2021. Kristen studied Marine Biology at the University of Rhode Island and has a minor in Natural Resource Conservation. Soon after college she decided working with smaller, domestic animals was her true passion! Her passion stems from growing up with her beloved Shiba Inu, and her two kitties she has now. When she’s not working, Kristen enjoys hiking, doing anything in nature, photography and shopping at her favorite stores.
