Miss Darci Corrigan quickly worked her way up through the ranks at her prior employer and came to Middlesex County Animal Hospital when first opening over a decade ago.  Darci has demonstrated a fierce work ethic, love for the patients, and a thirst for learning everything about veterinary medicine.

In just three years she was promoted to veterinary technician status and became the heart and soul of the hospital’s diagnostic team. She has since been promoted numerous times and is now the senior manager in addition to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) manager. Her primary interests lie in the areas of radiography and ultrasound, but she always welcomes the opportunity to broaden her veterinary knowledge. Having a lifetime love of animals, she knows this is right where she is meant to be! Outside of the office she loves to hike, go to the gym, and visit family in different areas of New England. When at home, she enjoys cooking and spending time with Chuck Norris, her Pug.

Mr. Bill Doherty has been a trusted and well respected staff member at Middlesex County Animal Hospital for the past decade.  Bill’s knowledge and skill in veterinary care are extraordinary and he has a great affection for clients and their pets.  Bill has been a veterinary technician for the past 25 plus years and has held many managerial positions.  He has dedicated his working career to the veterinary profession and is an incredible asset to this organization.  Currently the manager of our anesthesia and surgery department, Bill solidifies our vigilant surgery team.

Bill grew up in Billerica and surrounding areas and now calls Newton home with his lovely fiancée, Georgina, and their beloved dogs, Seven and Kiko.  Bill loves to work but even more loves to take a walk in the woods or just be lazy in the backyard with his dogs.  He frequently visits friends and family in the area and often finds the conversation gravitates to his profession and everyone’s pets.  He has always had a way with animals and his love for all creatures is obvious to all that know him.

Mary has been with Middlesex County for many years and often calls herself a “forever employee”. She thoroughly enjoys getting to know all of our clients and their pets. Mary’s optimistic and composed character keeps everything organized and running smoothly around the hospital. She graduated from UMass Dartmouth in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. Over her years in the field Mary has found a passion for surgery and overseeing the ICU. She is a resident of Massachusetts and has a 4 year old son, Walter, along with Gino the Brussels Griffon and their two cats, Homer and Hector.

Jayna has been a valuable part of the Middlesex County Animal Hospital team since early 2015. Over the years, her organizational skills and eager attitude have landed her the position as our hospital’s Assistant to Senior Manager. She also works closely with our Technician Assistant manager to keep our education and training manuals modern with the newest and latest developments. Jayna has always been extremely passionate about animals and knew she wanted to join this profession early in her adolescence. In the past, she has thoroughly enjoyed being a foster mom to fur babies in need, one of which turned into a “foster failure” as she was too attached to let go. She shares her home with Vastra and Strax, her Bearded Dragons, Franklin the cat, Theodore the rabbit, Penelope the Sun Conure, and Dexter, her Pomchi pup. While outside of work Jayna enjoys doing anything outdoorsy such as hiking or camping, in addition to sitting down to read a good book!

Justin graduated from the University of New Haven with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Sound Recording. He was excited to begin his new career with us and enjoys everything about the veterinary atmosphere. Just recently, he has become more involved in dental procedures and can often be found helping Joe in the Dental Suite. He has volunteered frequently with MSPCA Boston in the Shelter Surgery Clinic and has attended many cat spay clinics. Justin lives in Somerville with his two cats, Milo Avogadro and Selina Kyle.  He enjoys playing music and running in his spare time.

Kelly is a Vermont native and grew up on a dairy farm, which is where her passion for animals started. She then went on and attended Vermont Technical College to get a degree doing what she loves and acquired her Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. Her compassion and dedication to understand each and every animal’s needs makes her a valuable asset to the Middlesex County Animal Hospital team. At home, she spends time her dog a Maltese mix and her cat. In addition to her full time job here, Kelly enjoys catching up on her favorite shows on Netflix, cooking, and reading.

Christina started at Middlesex County Animal Hospital in 2012. After meeting the love of her life here at MCAH, some life changes resulted her leaving the hospital in 2015. Fortunately, she moved back to the area and rejoined us in late 2017. Christina is considered a highly valuable member of our staff who we are grateful to have back on our team. Always aspiring to work in the veterinary field, she followed her dream and has been a veterinary technician for over 5 years. With experience working in emergency medicine she is especially passionate about surgery and critical care. Christina and her wonderful husband John welcomed their son Garrett into the world in August of 2017 and has loved every part of being a mom. Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors and hiking with their Alaskan Malamute “Aluka”.

Jessa has been with MCAH for a short time, but has been a great addition to our team. Always with a smile on her face, Jessa’s enthusiasm for each and every day is inspiring. She has always had a strong interest in the veterinary field and has worked with pets for over 5 years. Her desire to help and care for animals is her true passion in life. Jessa is currently attending Middlesex Community college to obtain her associate’s degree. Outside of caring for animals and attending school she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, family and friends, being outdoors, and country music. But most importantly, she always makes time for a daily run with her boxer “Taffy”.

Lauren joined Middlesex County Animal Hospital in 2018. Her lifelong passion for animals was apparent when she adopted her first pet at the age of 5, a Parakeet named Treasure. Her love of animals led her to manage a holistic pet store where for 7 years she helped people find the best items for their pets. In 2018, she decided to leave retail to focus on a new career in veterinary sciences. Lauren is owned by a rescue pug named Kelso and shares her home with four indoor kitties: Macy, Zero, and foster fail siblings Phoebe and Indy. She is a huge Disney fan and loves anything Starwars, Marvel or Harry Potter. Outside of work Lauren enjoys singing and spending time at the ocean.

Alysia Scott 

Alysia has joined our team as a veterinary assistant. Having always loved animals. she realized that she wanted to join a career path that allowed her to fulfill her dreams of becoming a veterinary technician. Alysia is a graduate from Greater Lawrence Tech as an honor roll student certifying in culinary arts and hospitality. Her hobbies include sports (softball and basketball), dancing, music, and singing. She also loves spending time with her friends whether it be at the movie theater, the beach or doing other outdoorsy activities. At home she has a ‘Shipoo’ named Reece, an adorable Dachshund-mix named Leo, and a young rabbit named Ginger. 

Vanessa Sheehan

Vanessa joined our team with over 2 years of experience in the veterinary field. She has always wanted to help animals and has had cats her entire life. Most of her technical experience is from working with small animals in the emergency room, but also has some experience with livestock from school. She received her Bachelors of Science in Pre-Veterinary Science from UMass Amherst and is currently working towards another Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. At home Vanessa has an 11 year old German Shepherd named Tory and a 17 year old cat named Skinny who she has had since she was 5 years old. Outside of the hospital, Vanessa enjoys running, playing video games and rooting for her favorite NFL team,

Ava Swiniarski 

Ava is a veterinary technician assistant here at MCAH. Always loving animals she brings great compassion and care to the team. Her responsibilities include assisting veterinarians during procedures and helping the hospital’s patients receive the best care possible. She attended high school at Essex Aggie majoring in Veterinary Technology and went on to further her education at UMass Amherst and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Pre Veterinary Science. She worked at Granite State Animal Hospital for 2 years while in high school. She also interned at Lichtenburg Vet Hospital and at a doggy day care throughout the duration of her time in college. Ava has two pets: Milo (6-year-old Guinea Pig), and Fredo (1-year-old Palomino Rabbit). In her free time, Ava enjoys mountain and trail biking. She was lucky enough to study abroad in New Zealand for a semester in college and fell even more in love with hiking.

Ivana Vega

Ivana came to the MCAH team with over 5 years of experience in the veterinary profession. Ever since Ivana was a little girl she’s had a strong love for all animals. She cannot remember a time when she did not have an animal in her home to care for. Ivana attended Greater Lowell Tech and graduated in the health care field. Ivana went on to work in the human health care field, but was pulled back towards her passion of the veterinary world after 6 years. She then attended Animal Behavioral College where she graduated and received her Veterinary Assistant certificate. Outside of work Ivana spends time with her fiancé and their two beautiful girls. They share their home with Maya, a Bichon Friese, Diamond, the American Staffordshire Terrier, and Maximus, their handsome cat. Ivana savors time with her family, being outdoors, and activities such as camping and hiking.
